Imán, the Magnetic Boy

Ezra Ramirez is a typical high school student who lives in a marginalized colony in Cd. Juárez. During the weekends he donates his time at the neighborhood community center teaching kids and teens how to do comics. But lately people weren't showing up to the workshops because they were being intimidated by a group of delinquents hanging outside of the community center. Ezra decides to go talk to them to convince them to move away from the area but he was not welcomed there. One of the hoodlums brandishes his pistol to Ezra and tells him to get lost. Scared and helpless, he retreats to call the police but none show up due to the area being a zone of conflict, like many marginalized communities in Cd. Juárez. Ezra then proceeds to confront them, but this time he has to be smart about it and find a way to disarm them. With the help from his reluctant grandpa, they devise a suit made up of old washing mashing parts and magnets. But Ezra had to put aside his plans because he had to go back to school the following day. The weekend arrives again and the situation turns for the worse when one of Ezra's workshop friends is found dead outside of the community center. Ezra, angry for putting off his special project, runs back home to finish his suit and confronts the gang later that night. Thus, Imán, the Magnetic Boy is born. Imán is a super hero born out of necessity to protect his community. He wears a special suit made up magnets that will help him in disarming his adversaries, offering a non violent approach to crime fighting. Knowing that the police rarely arrive at the scene, Imán pledges to protect his community before more innocent lives are taken.

Ezra Ramírez es un típico estudiante de preparatoria que vive en una colonia marginada en Cd. Juárez.. Durante los fines de semana dona su tiempo en un centro comunitario enseñando a los niñ@s y adolecentas del barrio a hacer cómics. Pero últimamente la gente no va a los talleres, ya que están siendo intimidados por un grupo de delincuentes que se juntan fuera del centro comunitario. Ezra decide ir a hablar con ellos para convencerlos de alejarse de la zona, pero no fue muy bien recibido. Uno de los matones le muestra su pistola a Ezra y le dice que mejor se vaya. Asustado e indefenso, se retira a llamar a la policía, pero estos no aparecen por ahí ya que la zona es una zona de conflicto, al igual que muchas comunidades marginadas en Cd. Juárez. Ezra entonces procede a hacerles frente, pero esta vez tiene que ser inteligente al respecto y encontrar una manera de desarmarlos. Con la ayuda de su abuelo, a regañadientas, diseñan un traje compuesto por viejas piezas de lavadora e imánes. Pero Ezra había que dejado de lado sus planes porque tenía que volver a la escuela al día siguiente. El fin de semana llega de nuevo y la situación se vuelve peor cuando uno de los amigos del taller de Ezra es encontrado muerto fuera del centro comunitario. Ezra, enojado para aplazar su proyecto especial, corre de vuelta a casa para terminar su traje y se enfrenta a la pandilla más tarde esa noche. Es asi como, Imán, el chico magnético, nace. Imán es un súper héroe que nace de la necesidad de proteger a su comunidad. Él lleva un traje especial compuesto por los imánes que le ayudarán en el desarme de sus adversarios, ofrece un enfoque no violento a la lucha contra la delincuencia. Sabiendo que la policía rara vez llega a la escena, Imán se compromete a proteger a su comunidad antes de que se pierdan más vidas inocentes.
